Villa Borghese is an extremely varied and delightful park in
Rome, with all manner of green areas including Italian gardens
and English-style parkland. Although vast, it is not the largest
park in the city, coming instead after Villa Doria Pamphili and
Villa Ada.
Villa Borghese was made a Museum Park in the late 1990s, and
like an expansive outdoor museum it now hosts a variety of exhibitions
such as: the Gallery of Modern Art, the Civic Museum of Zoology,
the Etruscan Museum and the famous Galleria Borghese.
Also famous is the Lake Garden featuring the Temple of Aesculapius;
and the Piazza di Siena where the celebrated International Horse
Show takes place.
