The three-hour guided tour of Christian Rome gives you the chance
to visit its most beautiful churches and places of Christianity.
The tour departs from Piazza San Bernardo by coach, and after
a short time arrives at the tour’s first stop, the Basilica
of Santa Maria Maggiore, which was built on the Esquiline
Hill in 352 A.D.
The tour continues to the wonderful Basilica of San Giovanni
in Laterano. Our guide will then take you to visit the
Scala Sancta, which Christ stepped upon to enter
Pontius Pilate’s palace. After this stop,
the tour will continue by coach along the Via Latina and the Mura
Latine (city walls). The route will then continue to Porta di
San Sebastiano and Via Appia Antica, the site of the Chapel of
Domine Quo Vadis.
The tour will then arrive at the Catacombs of St Callixtus
where there will be a visit of approximately 45 minutes (on Wednesdays,
the Catacombs of Santa Domitilla will be visited instead). The
return route by coach will pass alongside the Baths of Caracalla.
